Subluxation (chiropractic)
From the plain-English glossary.
Definition
In modern chiropractic usage, a joint that is restricted or moving poorly with associated tissue irritation — not a bone 'out of place.' Medicare uses the term for the demonstrated spinal problem manipulation addresses.
Why it matters to you
Understanding the modern meaning inoculates you against both old-school mysticism and internet strawmen. Your bones aren't dislocated; your joints can still move badly.
