Medical Disclaimer
Medical disclaimer for Chiropractic Health Center's educational website — not medical advice, no doctor-patient relationship online, emergencies to 911, and an honest no-guarantees policy.
What this website is — and is not
Effective date: July 3, 2026. This website is patient education published by Chiropractic Health Center, the Reno practice of Dr. Alan S. Bader, DC — Chiropractic Physician, Nevada License B-567. Its condition guides, Q&A pages, exercise library, glossary and articles exist to help you understand musculoskeletal problems and make informed choices.
It is not medical advice. No page, form, email or chat reply on this site is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation for you personally, or a substitute for examination by a licensed clinician. Reading this site — or corresponding with our office through it — does not create a doctor–patient relationship. That relationship begins only when you are examined and accepted as a patient at the clinic.
Emergencies come first
If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Warning signs that should never wait for a chiropractic appointment include, among others: chest pain or pressure; difficulty breathing; signs of stroke (facial drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech, sudden severe dizziness); the sudden worst headache of your life; new loss of bladder or bowel control or numbness in the groin/saddle area (possible cauda equina syndrome); high fever with a stiff neck; significant pain after major trauma; or thoughts of harming yourself. Every condition page on this site carries its own “when to seek medical care instead” section — we mean them.
Scope of chiropractic practice
Chiropractic physicians in Nevada are licensed under NRS Chapter 634 to examine, diagnose and care for conditions within chiropractic's scope — centered on the spine, joints, muscles and nerves — using methods that do not include prescription drugs or surgery. Part of good chiropractic practice is recognizing what does not belong in this office: when examination findings point outside that scope, the standard here is a plain-English explanation and a referral to the right kind of clinician. This website's content reflects that philosophy — including honest statements about what chiropractic care cannot fix.
About the information itself
- Health pages are written for general audiences and medically reviewed by Dr. Alan S. Bader, DC — Chiropractic Physician; each shows a last-reviewed date. Medicine and evidence evolve — a page true at its review date can age.
- Citations to studies and clinical guidelines are provided so you can check our work; they describe evidence in general populations, not predictions about you, and cited authors do not endorse this clinic.
- Individual results vary — with chiropractic care as with all healthcare. Patient reviews quoted on this site are individual experiences, not promised outcomes.
- The exercise library carries its own warning worth repeating here: movements that are right for one condition are wrong for another. Stop anything that increases pain, and get examined before self-treating an injury.
- Our virtual assistant (Atlas) is an automated AI tool for scheduling and logistics. It is not a clinician, it can be wrong, and it is instructed to refuse medical questions and route emergencies to 911.
No guarantees — by design and by law
Nothing on this site promises a cure, a guaranteed outcome, or a specific timeline for recovery — and nothing said in this office will either. Nevada law (NRS 634.018) treats promising a permanent cure as unprofessional conduct, and honest practice treats it as impossible. What we promise instead: a real examination, findings explained plainly, recommendations you're free to decline, and re-evaluation that actually measures progress.
Your part (the fair-play clause)
Use this site as it's intended — to get oriented, prepare good questions, and decide whether to be examined. Don't use it to self-diagnose, to delay care you suspect you need, or to push through exercises against your own body's feedback. When in doubt: call. It's what the phone is for — (775) 829-7575.
