Once I start, do I have to go to the chiropractor forever?

Your Care · answered by Dr. Alan S. Bader, DC — Chiropractic Physician.

The short answer

No — and clinics that structure care so you 'have to' deserve the skepticism they've earned the profession. Care here has endpoints: treat the problem, re-evaluate, discharge with a home program. Some recovered patients choose periodic maintenance because they like how they feel — optional, cash-priced, never pressured, and honestly labeled as wellness care insurance doesn't cover.

The 'forever patient' model — massive prepaid plans, fear-based selling ('your spine will degenerate without weekly care') — is the industry's worst export. Nevada's advertising rules push against it, and so does this clinic's thirty-year reputation: patients come back across decades because they were never trapped, only helped.

What discharge looks like here: measured recovery, a home exercise program you actually own, honest guidance about what might flare and what to do first, and an open door — not an open tab.

Read our Wellness & Maintenance page for the honest framing of optional care: what it can do, what it can't, and why Medicare explicitly doesn't cover it.

Your situation has its own specifics — a two-minute call gets you a straight answer for it: (775) 829-7575.

“First time here… Friendly and efficient receptionist, she explained everything in detail. I saw Dr. Bader. Listened to my areas of pain, explained many things and my first adjustment was great. He is also friendly, has good “bedside” manners. They are a hometown health provider.”

“I’ve been seeing Dr. Bader for the last 15 years. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a great bedside manor. The office is very well run… Most insurance is accepted and if it’s not, the cash plan is very reasonable. Walk in’s are acceptable and same day appointments are most likely.”
