Adjustment
From the plain-English glossary.
Definition
A specific, controlled, quick force applied by hand (or instrument) to a joint that examination shows isn't moving correctly, to restore motion and reduce protective muscle guarding.
Why it matters to you
It's the core chiropractic procedure — and 'specific' is the point: the examination decides which joint, which direction, and whether adjusting is the right tool at all.
